To mention the elephant in the room, the broadcasting for this weekend's Formula 1 race was a bit of a fiasco. With inconsistent timing graphics and other technical issues, it made it hard for viewers to follow the race closely.
Looking past the broadcasting disaster that everyone has been talking about, let's get into the actual events of the race and how it led to another Mclaren victory.

Oscar Piastri has become the first driver to win multiple races this season after winning the Bahrain Grand Prix after starting from pole position. A strong start from pole position, though there was a close call when the Mercedes driver George Russell locked up going into turn 1, but after that Oscar was able to build a strong solid lead.
However there was trouble right off the line for Piastri’s teammate Lando Norris when he was hit with a 5 second time penalty right off the start line. The penalty being due to the fact that he was out of position in his grid box. Both Mclaren drivers will prevail during the race and Lando Norris will serve his time penalty during a pit stop, then later fight his way to the podium and claim 3rd place.
Piastri’s lead was threanted when a Safety Car emerged. A lot of confusion from viewers as to why there was a Safety Car to begin with, thinking they had missed a crash. The Safety Car however was released due to a small incident on the track where some debris were left on the track and had to be removed. A collision occurred between Yuki Tsunoda and Carlos Sainz, and while the debris on the track were being swept up we saw a chain reaction of cars diving into the pit for a change of tires.
Oscar Piastri was able to make a quick and clean getaway after the Safety Car and create a large gap, at the time of the finish line he had created a 15 second lead.
Mercedes’ George Russell was able to fend off Lando Norris and take second place on the podium. After the race however he will be investigated for a DRS infringement, but he avoids the penalty. In his own words about the incident, “ We were basically having all sorts of failures. We did an override on the DRS, and on one lap I clicked the radio button and the DRS opened.” He continues his statement by saying, “I straightaway closed it again, backed off, nothing gained, and I lost more than I gained – it was only open for a split second. It kind of goes to show the amount of issues we were having, but as I said, I’m really pleased with P2.”
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was able to still claim a points position despite the troubles he was having with the car. Overall he was able to take 6th place.
Now we are off to Jeddah for yet another weekend of racing, 3 weekends in a row of Formula 1 excitment.
